What we find repulsive is the control that one person can have over many people. Even more repulsive to us is the lack of action people take to change that. One of our creeds is "live free or fight." The traditional version of that is "live free or die.", but you're going to get one hell of a fight from us before we come anywhere near close to death. As we all get older, we better define what we want and need and what bothers us most. And, at least for some of us, we will not stand for any one persons bullshit who tries to stand in our way. Truck drivers are followers, not leaders. This is why "you" are in a constant state of being controlled by individuals whether they be politicians or management. Truck drivers do not possess the education, experience, sophistication or backbone to fight. Drivers like to whine. And that is what they do best. When it comes time to write a letter, make a call or take any intelligent action, they fall very short of what many "civilians" outside the business regularly do. One look at today's "typical" truck driver and you see an individual that is more comfortable following a carrot than trying to grow one. Truck drivers are the worker ants, the privates, the airman, the sailors, the mechanics - the ones who wash the cars rather than own the car wash. They're the ones who either joined the Klan or stood by while innocent victims hung from trees, while in the same breath talking of Jesus. The newest "crop" of drivers is no better than the last. And so the cycle of control of the many by the few continues. But for us, we choose to be in the 2%, and will "live or fight." Till the death if we have to. Because there is no other way.

So what are you feeling...

when you see this man on television, on the internet or in the newspaper? What are you feeling when you hear him on the radio? How did you feel when former President Bill Clinton denied having sex with that intern? How did you feel when you learned that he lied? How did you feel when LBJ expanded the bombing in Vietnam? How did you feel about Nixon and Watergate? How did you feel about President Carter when the rescue of our hostages in Iran failed? How are you going to feel two years from now when the next President screws up?

We're watching...

The DOT trying to sneak Mexican trucks into the US, the FUBAR situation in Iraq, the FMSCA HOS situation. Some of us are on vacation, one is writing letters to legislators, others are headed to the Dallas truck show, one of us is at the FJ in Tulsa and the rest are working on the new website. We're on the "sidelines" watching and listening. We have outgrown "Blogger". It is too "cumbersome" for us. There are now 56 million blogs according to BlogPulse.com. 93,922 blogs were created in the last 24 hours. We hear even OOIDA has a started a blog. Whatever.

Bill Mack keeps plugging...

this product on his XM radio show. We need to know the cost. We went to their website and for more information they referred us to a Freightliner dealer in Orlando. We will never do any business with a Freightliner dealer anywhere especially in Orlando, one if not the worst cities in the US. We could more information from a dead cat on the side of the road. We e-mailed both Bill Mack and VuQube and told them they've got to ramp it up a bit if they want our business. Give us the complete price straight up and let us order the product directly from the manufacturer. We also suggested they get this product, if it merits it, into FJ, Pilot's, Petro, Love's and T/A's. We'll keep you posted. Earlier we told you about a problem with Coleman. They resolved it and sent us two new plugs for our new cooler which had electrical problems. They responded quickly and we were impressed. Our tech editor Saturn Nate is following up for us on VuQube.

Twin Cities bridge collapse...

Right off, to avoid any copyright issues, this photo on the left is from the LA Times website at http://www.latimes.com/ and was taken by Jeff Wheeler of the AP. And the photo on the right is from Fox News at http://www.foxnews.com/ and is credited to AP/The Pioneer Press/Brandi Jade/TwinCities.com. This was one of the bridges (I35W) crossing the Mississippi from Minneapolis to St. Paul. Go to Fox News or the LA Times for additional details and continuous updates. Every staffer at acourtesyflush follows every major newspaper across the US - some international ones as well - XM, Sirius, etc., and reports accordingly. We look for issues that impact and interest truckers that the mainstream rags and other boring blogs, pseudo blogs and commercialized web sites will not tell you about or cannot effectively write about.
