Update on the Sirius XM merger...

Drivers, here's the deal...the FCC is still dragging its feet on this merger. It reminds us of the court case to see where Anna Nicole Smith should be buried. It took about a week to decide what should have been settled in a ten minute hearing. The "regular" radio folks don't want this to happen and they're bringing out all their trump cards to see that it doesn't. We're sure a lot of backdoor b.s. is going on here with lobbyists offering to do this for that and so on. It has nothing to with whether or not we drivers (subscribers) care or could possibly benefit by the merger. The two make their money from new car sales when the buyer activates the service. We love competition, but these two companies are drowning in their often-misguided efforts to outdo each other. Opra on the XM? Give us a break! Opie and Anthony? Who cares? Howard Stern receiving $500 million from Sirius? Absurd. NASCAR goes from XM to Sirius. OK, that's pretty good. XM has major league baseball, Sirius doesn't. But it would be better if they're were 3 or four satellite services rather than the big 2. Our Sirius and XM in the truck are off right now. We listening the "ole-fashioned" way to local radio around the US. It's really not too bad except for those horrible car commercials and the sexy girl/guy fool combos so typical of drive-time terrestrial radio. Satellite is better just because of the consistent reception everywhere you go. But satellite does have commercials and the DJ's are just as bad as regular radio. So here we wait. We're not going to buy any new equipment until the FCC makes it final ruling. We recommend you do the same. Filed by SaturnNate from Clearwater, FL
