I was home 10 days ago for about 9 hours, then left again. The last two weeks, paid miles were about 5200, which for a flatbed driver is damn good. And I felt every single mile. I wish I could rip out the Bostrom seat in the truck and throw in the bay. It is badly designed and only good for about 150,000 miles of driving. My company paid extra to have this "better" seat installed in their trucks. The factory installed seats were better. I was out too long as usual, but the larger paycheck should cover the absurd rise in my mortgage to cover the insane increase in insurance premiums due to the hurricanes - none of which affected where I live. The photo is of the bridge crossing the bay - about 5 miles from my home. It is 68 degrees, little humidity, and is most likely our last day of spring. In about 48 hours, summer hits Florida and the temperature is expected to be in the mid-eighties to low nineties. It will cool off sometime late October. As the saying goes, "If you can't stand the heat, get out of the kitchen." Well, for those of you that can't stand heat AND humidity, get out of Florida now and go back to Michigan, Indiana, Canada or New York.
