How is your OCD?

In these times of "high anxiety" - drivers should be aware of the symptoms of OCD - obsessive compulsive disorder. According to HELPGUIDE.ORG "This is a disorder characterized by recurrent, unwanted, disturbing thoughts (obsessions) and/or repetitive, ritualized behaviors that a person feels driven to perform (compulsions). Like a needle getting stuck on an old record, OCD causes the brain to get stuck on a particular thought or action that it just can’t let go." My OCD generally happens when I'm about to close the bunk curtains. My "anxiety" is that the brakes are not on and the truck will roll. I reach forward and have to grip the yellow parking brake several times. The more "stress" I'm under the longer I "need" to do this. Is this happening to you in a similar or other fashion? I've made it my mission to try to determine how many OTR drivers suffer from OCD and depression, and make sure they get the help they need. I believe the number of sufferers are high, but I cannot with my limited resources, give you more details. Certainly, next home time, please make an appointment with your health care professional for assistance. In the meantime you can get more information about OCD here: http://www.helpguide.org/mental/obsessive_compulsive_disorder_ocd.htm
