What are you doing this weekend? To follow up on a previous post, I'm transporting roofing material from Senatobia MS to (2 stops) Raleigh and Charlotte, NC. It is a Hazmat load. The paid miles are 891. I loaded this past Friday afternoon. The first delivery appointment is 9am Tuesday 4/29. It is going to a job site, and there will be a crane waiting. They will not accept delivery earlier. So I have
3 1/2 days to deliver! The "mandatory fuel solution" (it used to be recommended) is as follows: I need to get
50 gallons at the Longwood truck stop Mason, TN, then further down the road, get
101 gallons at the Pilot, Dickson, TN and finally
fill the tank at the T/A Whitsett, NC. Recently my truck's governor was turned down from 68 mph to 65. I'm "voluntarily" running at 63 mph. I am "over-idling", but then I can't stand being in a hot truck, and sitting in a smoky Flying J t.v. room is just not my style. I love my job LOL. Welcome to trucking...2008. The V. Grumpy photo is of another rainy TN day on I-40 eastbound.
