I love that show La Ink with Kat Von D. She used to be on the "other" tattoo show down in Miami, but she moved. I figure that if I get a tattoo, someone really good, if not famous, should do it. Maybe I can be on the show and get the work done for free. Poor trucker, blogger and Renaissance man - that kind of thing.
There is a place where I live that people go for "tats" called Lou's Tattoos - he has two locations - but I don't know anything about Lou, so I think I'll pass.
I used to have a good friend who was a cook in one of the toughest prison in the country - Rahway State prison - that's in NJ. Why he was my friend is for another post, but rest assured I was not a "resident" or employee at the prison. We did work together, but far, far away from Rahway. Anyway, the point is he had lots of tattoos all over his body. Most of which I couldn't stand. We went together to get one done - on him. It was a place in a strip mall. There were pictures all over the walls of tattoos. Behind a beaded curtain, there was a black gurney like you would find at a military hospital or city morgue. It was creepy. There was some guy lying down on his stomach getting "work" done on his shoulder.
A work in progress - more later folks.
