Just what are the pinheads at the VDOT thinking about that? In a related story, I wonder if “they” ever reprimanded their spokeswoman for telling truckers to “get a motel room” rather than park for 4 hours in one of their rest areas? It’s been reported by OOIDA, that the State Police in VA are waking up truckers in rest areas because of some dinosaur law stating that no vehicles can park longer than 4 hours. This is irresponsible law enforcement of a bad law. I’m sure if there is a truck accident on I-81 or I-95 and it involves a tired driver, that really smart aggressive lawyer is also going to name the VA State Police a party to the lawsuit. How will the VA State Police feel working without their shirts.
The “Flush” strongly recommends to the idiots in Virginia to come up with a better, safer way to save $12 million. How about a pay reduction for VDOT officials, especially that “get a motel room”spokeswoman. Even better - and this is what I know would be best – close all the VA weigh stations!
