What was this driver thinking?

We saw this story and photo on The New York Times website. This guy drove through the Lincoln Tunnel the other day. For all the details go to their site at http://www.nytimes.com
A reminder to all tractor trailer drivers in NYC and Chicago - there are many signs warning you of low height restrictions. To get into the city take the GW bridge. In Chicago - as we have said before - get a map that lists the height restrictions throughout the area. The "typical" GPS unit will not route you around these low clearance places. Throughout the 5 NYC boros there are many low bridges, railroad crossings and structures that will get in your way. Needless to say, it is not a good place for a 13' 6" truck with a 53 ft trailer. Pay attention to what you're doing and where you're going. Better yet, avoid the entire area completely.
