George Washington had it right by doubling the rum ration to his troops on July 4th. We're all going to celebrate it in our own way. Hopefully, you will have off from work or if you're an OTR driver you will be home or parked safely at one of the better truck stops. We just want to say this - the US is the greatest country in the world since men and women first walked the planet. As Americans, we are damn lucky to be living here. US Citizenship must be a unique and treasured responsibility. Living in a democracy is not easy. It is work. And we must all take that work seriously. We have a duty to watch what "our" government is doing. A free press is our front line to keep us informed about what is happening. We need to vote. We need to participate. We need to speak out. We need to ask questions. We need to write. We need to be activists. We need to learn from history. We need to e-mail and blog and pod cast. We need to be iconoclasts. We need to have compassion. We need to fight. We need to be smart. This is what being free is all about. Anything less is simply unacceptable The staff of acourtesyflush wish all you a safe, happy and productive July 4th.
