Hometime...Day 3...

the weather is still mild...68 degrees and the humidity is low. Too bad it can't stay this way through the summer. Spent a lot of time researching some blogging technical issues. Domains, templates, mega tags, analytics code, sidebars, expandable summaries, labels, bla, bla, bla - it's apparently not all about the content. I stopped "chroming-up" my truck because it's all about the miles, not how the truck looks while the miles are being driven. And to some extent that's how I feel about what I call "appearance blogging." If the writing sucks - as with about 99% of all blogs - trucking or not - who cares what it looks like. HTML code reminds me of DOS - the sooner it is replaced by English, the better off we'll all be. Code is for geeks who sit in college dorm rooms. I don't have the time or patience for it. And if you have no clue about what I'm talking about, start blogging and you will soon find out. When someone tells you to you "need" a three column template, well, good luck. Moving on, I woke up at 2:30am wondering why the fan in our bedroom was off. My son was talking on the phone. The power had gone out, after a transformer blew across the street. If you are a parent, you know that good conversations with your kids come at inopportune moments, and you better prepared to take advantage of them. This was one of those times, and we talked for the better part of an hour. It was a great time to catch up on his job, girlfriends, other friends and things in general. The power came back on and I was falling asleep. So after the obligatory "pit stop" I went back to the bed after one of our dogs moved from (my) spot in the bed. It's Saturday now. I went to Wal-Mart last night - today is haircut time and Monday morning I will back in the truck. It's good to be home with the Mrs. here with me, although as I said yesterday, if a spare $25K-$50K would fall from somewhere, it would sure help matters. The V. Grumpy photo is one of our dogs - whose favorite spot is on the unused treadmill catching some rays.
