This "machine" is...

the bane of my existence. I hate this device. If you're an OTR trucker, you know that it is a Comdata card reader. Many don't work. Many can't read your card. Most should have been replaced long ago. Many hang on to their base like a tooth about to fall out. The screens are difficult to read, especially on a sunny day. Most of the buttons are worn out and unusable. Many ask you for information, like your plate number and state and/or ICC/DOT number. For the plate number, I always use 12345 and OK as the state. It never makes any difference. This device is a dinosaur. Pilot seems to have the worst units, although the same models always work better at Petro or T/A. I wonder how truckers pay for fuel in China or Mexico? It just can't be any worse then what we are subjected to on a day to day basis here in the U.S. The photo is by V. Grumpy. I forget where this particular unit, which was out of order, was located.
