It's late. I'm tired. I didn't go inside to eat because of the heavy rain. I've got to buy an umbrella. I'm at the FJ in Joplin MO off I44. We're headed to Lafayette to the Wabash plant. I break away from the tv and typing on the laptop and open the bunk curtains. And what do I see. A familiar site. Some inexperienced fool is trying to back into a dark space across from me. His drives are about 5 inches from my front bumper. His box is just about touching my bug eye mirrors. So what possessed me at this moment to get off my duff and look out front. Who knows. But it's a good thing I did. He's just sitting there not having any idea what to do next. I notice that his trailer axles are all the way back. Another driver comes over to direct him. That's never good. Just pull forward slowly and find somewhere else to park. I watch for a minute and start to get worried. Time to take action. I open the passenger side window and shout out at the driver assisting in this possible fiasco. "Anyone behind me?" I know since my load extends out about 4 feet that there's no one behind me. I also checked my mirrors. But to be on the safe side why not let the other driver get some exercise. He runs back and doubles checks. No one behind me, of course. So I turn on my lights and 4 ways and back up. The other inexperienced driver doesn't move his truck. I back up some more. I wait. Nothing. I flash my lights. I refuse to turn on the CB. The driver assisting Mr. Inexperienced tells him to do something. He goes forward then backs into the dark space. A 15 minute affair. I wait. I hope he is done. I'm tired and don't have all night. Better to do this than get dressed and call the cops to fill out an accident report. I move back to where I was and turn off the lights. The inexperienced driver shuts down, turns his lights off, gets out of the truck and goes inside the J. No thank you. No acknowledgement of any kind. He doesn't even look back. No wave. I'm feeling empty. But what else is new. I win nothing, I get nothing. I did myself a favor - ha! I smile. Oh well, I did save myself a whole bunch of aggravation. This guy would have hit me. No doubt. Thank you to the angel that before that moment happened "told" me to get up and look out. PS/Now I don't know what an angel looks like - if I see one I'll certainly take it's picture and post it - until that time comes I found the photo you see and the credit is
