Until Jan. 31st anyway. Membership – new or a renewal is “only” $25. It’s normally $45 and after the 31st. that’s what it will return to. As regular readers of the “Flush” know I used to be a OOIDA member. I opted to take the money I had for “memberships” and join AARP and let my OOOIA membership expire. I’m also pursuing writing for AARP. OOIDA couldn’t stomach someone like me doing anything for them. Speaking of doing something for them, someone who does – driver and columnist Dave Sweeney – recently lost his wife. I am so sorry for his lost. His post, which told of the last days of his wife’s life was very moving and saddened me greatly. As several drivers who have read the post I forwarded to them told me –at least he got back to the hospital to be with his wife in her final moments before she passed. Very, very upsetting.
