Douglas, Wyoming…

sub_logo Yup, that’s where I “be” right now. Have a delivery to the power plant down the road in Glenrock in the AM. I left Laredo Saturday afternoon with boiler panel tubing (???) from a factory that “used” to be in the United States that “used” to employ American workers. At least an American trucker is delivering the damn material.

Now let’s get down to business. Love’s. That’s the truck stop now called a travel stop and country store. Country store my ass. They advertised a Parrot Bluetooth wireless headset for $79 with rebate in their circular.

Problem is they don’t have the product in stock - anywhere. Love’s still has the “take the card up to the cashier” to get the product, but they’re out of stock. Take the damn cards down and put up an “out of stock” sign.

The bureaucratic assistant manager did not offer a “rain check” and the “clueless” marketing manager had no idea as to when, if ever, Love’s would get the product in. And this was the same scenario in the 3-4 Love’s I either stopped at or called.

I sent an email to Love’s corporate customer service and got this lame response - ”We have no control over inventories at our individual stores.” You don’t? What do you have control over you morons? Here is yet another example of MBA pinhead stupidity.

If you don’t have the inventory to back up what you advertise then don’t advertise it. And don’t put it on sale. Nobody is breaking down your doors to buy your crap anyway. Bottom line, Love’s, like the bankrupt Flying, and the parking lot pothole king T/A and the dreadful “we don't give a shit about truckers” Pilot - all are clueless worthless places where you should never buy anything. My bad. I’m just going to order it on EBay.

logo Next, speaking of useless. PrePass. No response to my emails. Does not work in Virginia, Tennessee, Arkansas, Florida, Alabama, Mississippi, Georgia, Texas, Colorado or Wyoming. Both Carolina’s don’t even have it. As far as I know it doesn’t work anywhere anymore. The bottom feeding DOT in just about every state seems to have the system turned off.

Prepass keeps advertising – but - it is FALSE advertising. I haven’t seen a bill from them in two months. I personally am just going to drive my truck over the useless transponder and throw it in a lake somewhere. I urge all truckers to do the same thing. Of course, OOIDA is once again, asleep at the wheel. They’re more concerned if you have “text” messaging on your cell phone. Pinheads.
