I never saw it – did you. Did you even know anything about it? Hell, I never saw any of the movies that were nominated. I hate going to the freak’n movies. I used to love the experience. Back in NJ – 15 years ago – it was a lot of fun, especially if a new Bond film was showing. But there are just too many idiots, old farts and inconsiderate bastards that are allowed into the theatre these days. And I can’t stand the endless mindless promos for future films that I’ll never see or products I’ll never buy.
I said to my wife - if we ever could ever afford to buy a large screen TV – like a 48 incher - I’ll never – ever go to the movies. Well, as it turns out, my son bought us one for Christmas. That “iced” it for me. I’m never going back. With a blue-ray DVD player and a bag of mic’d popcorn, I’m good to go. I’ll just have to wait until all these supposedly great movies go to DVD or get on HBO.
