What is it that you want?…

wontonsoup I’ve dealt with morons and pinheads for most of this week, and I’m tired. I don’t feel like doing anything. I’m bushed. Wasted. I need to get out of this truck. This hurry up then wait lifestyle stinks. And I really need to get out of South Dakota. I need quiet and HEAT.

Last night, just before I went to bed, I felt sick, again. Psychosomatic? Perhaps this truck is making me sick. I was coughing and felt cold and achy. I’ve now been “sick “in one form or another for more than a month now. I took 1000 mg. of vitamin C, two Advil, a blood pressure pill and my “don’t wanna go postal” meds. I slept the night through, but would have liked to take the day off and do absolutely nothing. Nothing I telz ya!

I spent the better part of today getting the damn load adjusted and legal. Now I can actually get to Pennsylvania on more than 1/2 tank of diesel. I had a really big lunch. Freshly cooked sauerkraut. Fluffy whipped white potatoes. Crispy juicy fried chicken. Sweet yellow corn. Carrot cake. Little round tasty meatballs with a “hint” of BBQ sauce. Another hot chocolate. Wow! Talk about comfort food.

I found out why PrePass wasn’t working. Seems “they” mailed me a letter two months ago asking for a copy of my registration. I never saw it, they never got the copy and killed my account. Morons. Snail mail? Use freak’n email for goodness sakes. You want something? Send me an email. I see it on my Blackberry right in front of my face on the dash of the truck. I guarantee you it will be weeks before my account is restored and the damn transponder works again. That was $4 to fax the damn thing.

I said I need to get out of South Dakota. Folks seem ok here, but it’s just not my kind of place. Way too cold. Sturgis is a major disappointment. Too many “mountain men.” See yesterday’s post.

Many of the trucks here are way too long. I don’t get it. A 48 footer pulling something like another 30 ft trailer attached by a 10-15 foot beam thing. Absurd. Who screwed who to ever get this passed as safe and legal? What a joke. Crossing a SD scale – creeping along at 1 mph so “they” can weigh each axle – I saw one of their DOT “officers.” Overweight huffing and puffing in a brown uniform looking stupid as most DOT pinheads do. No exception here.

I’ve had it with noisy Jake brakes. Is a loud Jake brake a substitute for a really small penis? I think so. Speaking of small things, there are way too many annoying cattle haulers out here. And man ‘o man do they stink. Do they ever wash those trailers out? And this Flying J I’m at. Girlie magazines and condoms? Gambling? Real food? Who’d they screw in Salt Lake to get all this approved? Were they wearing “temple garments” at the time? I know, I know – how insensitive of me. Whatever!

I truly hate cold weather. Bring on that whole global warming thing. This load delivers to three “government” installations in PA next Monday. If I could repower the load onto some other (poor schmuck) driver, I would. I just don’t feel like dealing with it, despite the good miles. I’m sure I’ll have to make at least 15 phone calls to get appointments and directions. They’ll all probably stop receiving at 2pm or something ridiculous.

I’m sitting here listening to Bubba (aka – the “Love Sponge”) on Sirius/XM. Or should I say Liberty/Sirius/XM? This guy is growing on me. I like the new “cleaned-up” version of his show. I’d like to meet him someday. We live in the same town. Something sounds wrong with the satellite though. The sound on all the channels is kind of scratchy. Maybe it’s my radio, maybe not. I’m sooo tired of things not working.

Something else that’s driving me crazy is Ask.com, which has mysteriously found it way onto Firefox. That’s my browser. I’ve found some solutions for getting rid of it, but nothing works. I want the Ask.com people shot for what they’re doing. At least put them in “Internet jail” and make them uninstall their “program?” off my laptop. This kind of shit should be illegal. Shame on them.

The stupid market took another “dip.” The news (Fox) says that 6 years of gain are gone. I see it with my 401K. 627,000 people filed for unemployment last week. Disney has begun to lay off workers. Mickey and Minnie might have to foreclose. Gas is up 15%. President Obama is spending the day up in Canada. He wants to “renegotiate” NAFTA on “US terms.”  He’s also going to send 17,000 troops into Afghanistan. His approval rating is hovering around 60%, for now.

So feeling the way I do, I ask myself, what do I want right now? Have you asked yourself that lately? What’s going to cut it for me? I think I’d really like to be at home in my black chair next to my wife, talking to her and watching TV. I’d like some hot wonton soup. I love wonton soup! It would be sure nice to have a few hundred thousand in the bank. Yes, I said a few hundred thou. Even a mil. I’d like to take a year off. I’d like to write and do some kind of animal rescue. Forget anything to do with trucking!

But just like last night, I’m numb. I don’t know what that means. I guess it’s not good or bad. It’s certainly better than being depressed, which I’m not – not right now anyway. Someone owes me about $500. They keep making excuses why I have not been paid yet. I would feel better if that debt was settled already. What I was doing to earn it was kinda fun, but I can’t do it anymore until I get paid. It’s too bad. Something else that doesn’t work.

Hey, are you following this ongoing Sen. Burris mess? He’s the guy that was “given” Obama’s seat through former Illinois Gov. Blagovitch. This whole situation stinks. I told you in an earlier post that Governor’s should not have the “privilege” to fill these vacated positions. It must be done by an election. Burris should resign.

Hey, I just realized my FM radio is set on the wrong station for Sirius. LOL. I reset it. No more scratch. Gee, wish I could figure out how to get rid of Sean Hannity. And that despicable Ask.com crap. Later folks.

PS/FYI 24 years ago Coke put a cherry on top of a icy glass of their soda – and cherry coke was born.
