Ohio workers gets screwed again...

DHL is closing its hub in Wilmington, OH. Today, the air package express carrier announced it is ceasing US operations and will lay off 9500 employees. About 7500 of those jobs are in and around the Wilmington area. About 20% of the areas businesses that depend on the hub and are now in jeopardy. Nationwide, DHL will reduce the number of its locations from 412 to 103.  Earlier this year, DHL had eliminated 5400 jobs.Their "hubs" in Riverside CA and Allentown PA will also close. DHL is expecting losses this year of $1.5 billion. Also today, in other business news, Circuit City, the electronic retailer, filed for bankruptcy protection.
