4 Days in Norfolk NE...

Nice place I guess. I'm MT and ice and snow is just about everywhere. I'm really not that motivated to bobtail around town and risk getting stuck. An MT Kenworth is useless on anything but solid dry payment. A mini Cooper has a better time getting around in inclement weather. And I don't do the whole chain thing.

I'm parked here - on the ice - at Cubby's/Cenex truck stop right in the middle of town - off US275. Real nice folks. Fresh sandwiches made each day.  Good java and a nice breakfast. Small place, but far better than any bankrupt Flying J, T/A or Pilot. And the women that work here know what they're doing. I wanted a "personal" pan pizza. There was one left under the lights. I took it up to the counter. "Now that should have been pulled an hour ago - NO CHARGE!" That would never happen at a bankrupt Flying J, T/A or any crappy Pilot. I remembered the roast beef sandwich at Flying J on STALE bread.

There's lots of freight moving in and out of here, but for some reason my company can't seem to get their hands on it. Tomorrow, though, at noon, I'm loading steel headed to El Paso TX. Haven't been there in ages. If things go as they have been, I'll drop the trailer in the yard down there and sit for a few days before headed somewhere else. 1500 miles a week. Now that's tough.

You know what else is tough? Everything, at least out here on the road, seems dead. I don't know what people are waiting for. It's weird. Obama can't do it alone after the 20th. You know you've got to help out a little. Try answering your e-mail for a start. Jeeez, that bothers me. And try being "professional" again. Whatever vacation some folks seem to be on is over, but apparently they didn't get the memo. Time to get to work. I'm parked here in the middle of nowhere, MT, it's 4 degrees - yesterday I was sitting in a white out - but guess what? I was busy on the Internet, which amazingly works, even in the snow and frigid weather, doing a whole bunch "a" stuff.

I'm going to buy an electric cattle prod. When I go inside somewhere and say hello, good morning, how r u doin' today and get no response - zaaap! Hey I'm here to pick up a load to - and get no response - zaaaap! I'm tired of folks being asleep during the day. Get some coffee, get mov'n, as I said, time to get to work. If you want to hibernate head home or go into the woods wth the bears. If I ask how your doin', damn it, I expect an answer. Same with the 1/2 assed e-mails. Try taking some vitamins. Get some fresh air. If I wanted to deal with the dead, I'd go to a cemetery.
