Obama signed the “bailout” bill - big whoop. He needs to sign a “confidence” bill. Trump Entertainment filed for bankruptcy today. GM wants even more money. Sirius/XM is now in bed with Liberty Media. The Dow fell 300 points this afternoon. California is broke. And worst of all, the company I drive for has decided to haul hay and alfalfa. This is just terrible news.
But tonight I’m actually feeling pretty good. Last week was the best week I’ve had in a long time. 500-1000 miles has been the norm, but last week I actually drive 2000 miles. And right now, I’m under an 1800 mile trip from Douglas WY to Sturgis SD over to PA. I’m hauling real American wood. From there I’ll probably get a HAZMAT load out of Carlisle PA back down to TX. I’ll actually be able to pay some bills this week.
So, things are going to hell in a hand basket, but as long as I’m roll’n and making money, and since there’s not a whole lot I can personally do about this stupid depression, screw it all. Besides, who gives a rats ass about Trump.
He is a pompous ass – a 21st Century side show Barnum – an overexposed cartoon character, albeit a rich one. Trump – you’re fired! GM is a manufacturer whose time has come and gone. I wouldn’t give ‘em a dime. Unless they figure out how to make a $20K electric car that is safe, they will continue to bleed money like a gang member shot in a drive-by.
As far as Sirius/XM, I love the concept of satellite radio with its constant uninterrupted 24/7 reception but the never-ending commercials, unnecessary and annoying DJ’s, overpriced receivers and programming that is at times, amateurish, makes you want to switch to another service, if there was one. The Sirius/XM merger has resulted in a inferior product.
California has got what it deserves. If it dropped into the sea and floated away toward Hawaii, I wouldn’t shed a tear. And I’ll move dog poop from here to there, especially if the trip is over 1500 or more miles.

I forgot about all the crap one tends to think about when driving on the interstate especially in and around big cities. And the weather was nice – not too cool and not too hot – kinda just right.
